Spanish bread - (Filipino version)

Thursday, January 26, 2012
Been craving for Spanish bread. This bread or pastry is very popular in our place - Cebu. I do not know why they call this one spanish bread. Maybe there's a spanish influence into this bread. Perhaps the filling made of brown sugar, bread crumbs and butter. It is a sweet bread. So good for coffee and tea time.
Good thing tough that a friend shared the recipe to me. So i tried it out....

and

Voila!

success!

when rolled and ready for baking

after baking... yum yum!
sorry there are no step by step pictures..... at this time it's too tiring for me since I am sick and my little boy too, and the after baking picture didn't even do justice to the sweetness of the bread. Besides, my children can't wait too long to try it so just I just snap few pictures.

Today, I will be baking another batch. I will post recipe soon.

Life with food

Sunday, February 20, 2011
Last Friday a good friend ask me what's for dinner. and so I answered her, just eggs and steamed rice!

I think that's how simple life can be sometimes. I think.

Later that day, she emailed me saying she cried of what i said. Not because she was offended but the thought of, that life should be spent simply as that sometimes.  She is not a complicated woman nor a sophisticated one. she is ordinary yet very hard to get. especially when it comes to men.  She is living a very independent lifestyle and happy being single. I hope.

Today, i tried this Arroz Con Pollo recipe from Pinoycook.net. So far so good. hubby said.
It is just a simple meal. we love it.

Life can be  good even how simple it is. isn't it?

One pot meal for today!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008
Found this super good meal at this foodie blog The journal of a Girl who loves to cook. while blog hopping from one food blogs to another.

Since, i run out of meat in the fridge so this meal gives me the idea what to prepare for hubby and me. Good that this meal is perfect match with the weather and my stomach is craving for one nutricious not too complicated to cook meal today.

One Pot meal for One
1 chorizo sausage sliced
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 sprigs fresh oregano roughly diced
1 full garlic with cloves peeled
3 small onions roughly sliced into thick rings
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup water
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
(hard vegetables of your choice)
I love Carrots; potatoes and pumpkin.
Pepper to taste

Heat oil in a pot with medium heat; add in garlic and sliced chorizo; Stir fry till fragrant and golden. Add in everything else and bring to a boil. Lower stove top heat and simmer for another 8-10 minutes with lid on top. Stir occasionally till hard chopped vegetables are tender and liquid is at desired thickness. Serve with crusty bread or croutons.

Now, who will not crave for such food..hmmm! can't wait for G to be home.

That's all for today folks!
