This is one sewing style/ technique I wanted to try on..draping! Back home, a friend taught me how to do draping in dresses and gowns. But here, I do not have the mannequin where it would be easy to manipulate such technique. To further enhance my knowledge, I searched the internet for easy draping tutorials and interested to buy this drape drape book by a Japanese author. I am hoping someday I would be successful in draping. I am infact trying one right now. We'll see....
Today, I'd like to get inspiration from a close family friend and a neighbor, Philipp Tampus who's now a famous fashion designer in the Philippines after joining Project Runway Season 1. He is great for drapey designs, lacey, romantic, classy and sophisticated designs. He's one humble person I know. No airheads. I understand how and where he gets inspirations from his works, from his family and how he was raised, especially by his mom who loves crocheting. His project runway finale collections is of lace & crochet inspired designs. Truly inspired by his mother, Manang Pacing.

He's one ordinary guy I know back then. He went abroad to work as a designer and now, would surely stay foot in the Philippines to share his talent and designs to aspiring young designers, sewing enthusiast like me. That isn't too late to dream, try and enhance your talent and of course share it to the world and especially to your fellow countrymen/compatriot is such an honor and a blessing.
I am inspired and I have to rally hard to try my hands more on draping and other sewing technique. I also support indie designers and local talents.
Philipp Tampus shop is located in Mabolo Cebu City, Philippines.
