Spring blouse & dress projects

At last, my spring blouse project is finally here. Yehey!

It was not a wonderful sewing ride actually for this blouse. I have a different design in mind but due to limited time, I didn't make it and change my mind the last minute. 

Here's the spring blouse I made and finally (almost) finished yesterday. It is a kimono like style of blouse. I wanted to make another one like that but maxi one. But I only have that fabric so I just make use of what I have so as not to waste some scraps of fabric.  

If your a professional seamstress you would actually see the flaw of the dress and the other mistake. The hemline when I took that pic is still not that align. As well as the 1st layer of the bottom part is not that align, because it was shirred and ruffled so it is not that obvious, right? For a novice sewer like me, I am happy and content with the outcome anyway. hehehe! hubby commented I look preggy and so i said it was really made that way. :-p

Today, I put that out as profile picture of my facebook account. A lot of my girlfriends were reacting that I did a long way with my passion. Yey!

not really good yet but nice one for a starter like me. 

Infact, two of my girlfriends wanting the same blouse. hahahah!

Since the hemline is not perfectly align  i was thinking if i will hem it down or just put a white lace on it..what do u think?

On the other note, My other friend is asking me to sew her the dress she designed.  At present, she is a freelance model here and I know she has a talent in designing. So today she shared to me her design and asking me if I could make this dress for her.  Please see below designs...

1st dress..she named this CASSANDRA :-d nice name

She envisioned this dress with a sequence fabric on the lower part, with an embroidered tube top. Let me know what you think is the best material for this dress.

2nd dress: I like her idea of layered scallop dress. Now, I have to come up with a pattern for this and find the best material for such design. So any suggestions on the fabric and materials I should use?

 By the way, this is my friend, Zsamae.  She is a freelance model here. For any modelling ideas she is up to the challenge.

Who would not love this girls?
 Their fashion sense is super fabolous. They are not afraid to mix and match with their  thrifted wardrobe.

 Did I mention here I love thrifting? I'm a self-confessed thrift store junky :-D yey! There is something about vintage and second hand things that gives me a kind of excitement and nostalgic.  I hope I could share here next time some of my favorite vintage things i've collected for years.

Goodbye snow!  Hello spring!

Yesterday officially spring sprung.  Love it....the weather is getting nicer when sun is always up all day long.

Lately I've been eyeing on these colored trousers. Best outfit for spring and summer for me.I browsed at Zara they have the same coloured trousers collections and I bumped into not enough time site and blogged about this as well.  Hmmmm... pretty interesting. Can't wait to hunt the same style in the thrift and vintage shops down the city tomorrow.

What I like about it is the effortless look. I am a trouser, shirt person. So, I really go for such look on the summer and spring.

This madewell collections is such an eye candy too.

The blazer paired with short is reallyl IN nowadays.

Eyeing on the same short in the thrift shop last time we were there with my friend, but we didn't find one maybe because what they have in the store that time was all for winter. Can't wait for tomorrows thrift shopping with girlfriends.

Of course, I love orange! So that sleeveless polo really stunning.

  

Oxford shoes is, one of my favorite piece to complete my wardrobe nowadays. For me, you can't go wrong with anything you match with oxfords, especially when paired with your favorite flowy spring/summer dress...really pretty!

Last Satruday while in the mall, I saw a lot of bicycles on display.  From all styles, shapes and colors. But that red bicycle really caught my eyes while browing Krakow bicycle chick site. The same bicycle I've been eyeing for sometime now. So when i saw last saturday similar style of bicycle on display, i winked at hubby and he knows that's what I like to have. 

Indeed, It is really spring and summer will  kick in very soon too.

I just love it! 

I love it when the days are longer and the sun is up all day long.

Will be rocking a new do soon

At last, i am book to my hairdresser this friday. I am a bit agitated if I would pursue cutting my hair really that pixie. Part of me wants to keep the long lock, part of me wanting it to let go and rock a boyish look. I don't know exactly now. I have to made up  my mind.

Nevertheless today, i am googgling on audrey hepburn look. And found this picture at we heart it.

 

Of course, I'm not Audrey Hepburn. Hence, I like her classic and elegant beauty. 

Another pixie cut hairstyle struck me is this.... 

 

I like this asian cut since I am very asian. I found the picture over while searching over google. Sorry i forgot the link. Her beauty reminds me of my friend back home. really really similar..the eyes and face.

Now, i HAVE to decide if I go for really short hairstyle again, though I got already approval from hubby.

pixie haircut - why not!

As a mom of two active toddlers, my time is on a run most of the time. If your a mom you understand what i mean. 

it seems i always have hair issues lately. Falling hair, thinning hair and not so easy to manage. That sometimes, really worries me. Hair is the crowing glory of every ones faces. Recently that I do not look good anymore with having a long hair. It doesnt match my age and lifestyle as a mom.  

So, was thinking of cutting my hair into a short pixie style. I am into short hairstyle... as in super short hairstyle during my student days in university. The pressure of school and having a part time job tend to make my life easier if i have such short manageable hair. Until I entered the corporate real world. My job demands me to travel more often and be very active at all times. So, I maintained such super short hair.  In fact, when my hubby met me for the first time, I have this boyish hairstyle. (i'd love to share that picture here but i need to find time where i put that in my file.)

This time, why not!  i think i still can carry such hairstyle. I think.

Been googling for some pictures on the net about pixie haircuts, and katie holmes emerge to be one of the celebrities who is into pixie hairstyles and then Keira Knightley too.

Keira Knightley's front style of haircut is also very flexible to style.

I also search if an asian cut of such cut.

and I like that color of that asian girl's hair but i do not think it will fit into my skin color since i'm morena.

Rihanna and Victoria Beckham also rockin such do too. 

Will super pixie haircut will look good me? What do u think?

Relation of holy week & my tonsilitis

Exactly I am on so tired after the holy week. Holy week is indeed always a great retreat for my soul. This year and last year, I did not spent it in St. John's monastery where I usually find solace and rest away from work. But actually, it is the only place in my country where I can find isolation from the real world - from the noisy asian city life & busy life in the office. Since this year I'm now here, we just spend it at home with our 8 months old baby. Though, I find the confines of our home a great sanctuary to rejuvenate and rest since it's cozy and the ambiance is really great with kapusta (cabbage) in the background. True, we are surrounded with kapusta plantation. No wonder some named our place kapusta capital. And on summer you will be amazed by the beauty of the landscapes. That is why I can't wait for summer. If you don't know, I lived in a small village from a small city just near Katowice and not that far from Krakow (if you been to Poland you know where i am ). So, i get a full view of polish practices, traditions and culture. It is an opportunity for me to learn new things. And really right! everyday I am experiencing new things here. I could say I am adopting the culture (no choice!) since I now lived here and I came to love the place.

Why I'm tired? so tired after celebrating Polish easter. Why?! maybe because .... Eating so many eggs, ham, kiełbasa (polish sausage) & lots of sweets. Oh ! really I find myself so full of fats these days that I want to scream and say ENOUGH! Really that's why I am tired and quite sick. I need to get the fats out of my system....plzzz! tell me how. Walking..walking! That's all i need i guess. I miz fresh vegetables, fish. Please don't let me eat more meat. Whew!

Today, I am experiencing outbreak of my tonsils - I guess It gets infected and i can't swallow some foods coz it is painful. This is tonsilitis! Ngek! So, this is what I get after eating too much fats & sweets. Now, I'm stuck! ( sorry that pic is so yucky to look at)
